ABOUT THE WINNER
“If I leave you in a library to shelve books, in a year you’ll be gone. If I leave you in the desert, in a year I’ll return and find that you’ve built a resort.”
This quote from a mentor early in his career shaped Fabrice Thomas’ vision of leadership and supply chain transformation, driven by ambition, teamwork, and a commitment to creating business, societal, and environmental impact.
As SVP, Global Materials & Supply Chain Management at Ultra Clean Technology, Fabrice draws on experience across telecommunications, railways, robotics, healthcare, and semiconductors to turn supply chain into a competitive advantage, building opportunities where others see constraints.
Congratulations, Fabrice Thomas!
Case Study Highlights
Ultra Clean Technology manufactures the equipment that goes onto semiconductor production lines, leaving it highly exposed to a cyclical market and to component scarcity shared with direct competitors.
Two years ago, Fabrice Thomas’s team built a data engineering group in Cebu, Philippines, to gather and clean data so category managers could focus on decisions rather than data crunching, freeing the broader supply chain organization to spend the majority of its time on decision-making rather than manual data preparation.
His team also adapted vendor-managed inventory for the semiconductor industry, capping supplier liability at a defined window and adjusting order quantities on a regular cadence to share risk between UCT and its suppliers rather than leaving either side fully exposed.
Together, these initiatives have given Fabrice’s team the visibility needed to secure critical materials ahead of competitors, supporting the business through a period of significant growth.
