Message to the Supply Chain Community
To be named as a nominee to Leaders in Supply Chain Award was such an outstanding surprise an honor. Winning and losing are both parts of life. I have learned a lot from losing. It motivated me to learn more and work harder. Receiving this award means I successfully developed my critical skills as well as my team and team members individually. Leaders’ successes are reflected in their teams’ achievements, so I this award as an award of my team achievements. Thank you to my fellow industry colleagues and my team for this honorable recognition.
Supply chain function like no other function had been impacted by recent developments in the world. Those recent events, starting from COVID outbreak in 2019, are showed how efficient global supply chain set up was but also forced transformation of corporate and global supply chains to respond new emerging challenges. It is proven the most successful Supply Chain transformations are performed by leaders who has strong functional experience, knowledge and who is looking for a new break through ideas motivating and preparing their teams to achieve new horizons. I urge us, current Supply Chain leaders, to focus on development of next generation leaders in Supply chain who would have both strong leadership skills along with a same strong functional knowledge and most important functional experience.
CASE STUDY
“In the refreshed CarlEx approach we are covering the End-to-End supply chain, leveraging digital technologies, where it is appropriate and delivering incremental value to the company, and focusing on people development and functional proficiencies so our employees can understand a real process happening behind monitors and digital screens. An enormous efforts have been put into reviewing and then simplification of processes we had in supply chain to eliminate waste of time and resources. And then even stronger efforts were put behind change management helping our people to move from doing things the way it was always done to a new (simplified and efficient) way.”
