TOP SUPPLY CHAIN LEADERS 2023
Pardeep Gill
Chief Procurement Officer & VP Supply Chain Ameren
Pardeep Gill (Gill) grew up thinking he would work in the healthcare field but that all changed after taking supply chain and logistics classes in undergrad. That quickly led to pursuing an MBA in Supply Chain from The Ohio State University and an internship at Ford that started his procurement career. He is now the Chief Procurement Officer of a Fortune 500 utility and he is proud to have performed almost every role in his organization. He hears from most people that they would guess he works in IT or is an engineer, but he has found his dream job in Supply Chain. Gill is on his 6th house and loves doing his own home improvement and yard work with his two sons.
Message to the Supply Chain Community
It’s a humbling experience to even be in consideration for this award for the 2nd year and I know that that so many strong supply chain leaders were nominated so all I can say is that it’s a true honor. Day in and day out before and during the challenging times of the pandemic my team has worked so hard to deliver value to our company and this recognition is not only for me but the entire supply chain organization. Through collaboration, engagement, and sharing best practices, we can all raise the bar in every aspect of Supply Chain Excellence.
For the last few years we have all heard the words “Supply Chain” in the news and from our colleagues followed by the word “Challenges”. To me this is an opportunity to further build the trust and advocacy of our companies to support the great work supply chain professionals do. Our businesses need to have the right goods and services in the right place at the right time and at the right price and we are up to task! It’s such an exciting time to be in the Supply Chain! We have a great opportunity and privilege to be in a function that can help our companies truly move the needle in so many ways.
CASE STUDY
“It is crucial to have a good understanding of what is going on at any point in time to make decisions. The SC wanted to identify and track SC Metrics in a central location, promote transparency and visibility, facilitate incorporating SC Metrics into overall SC performance, and use the data to identify opportunities to improve over time. Metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) are the tool of choice. They help decision-making by bringing objectives into the foreground and by providing a framework for monitoring and assessing progress. They are used when devising strategies, measuring performance, and setting goals. We have established and expanded Supply Chain metrics using data, analytics & automation to provide actionable insights for achieving Customer Affordability goals.”
